If you are the parent of a qualifying child and are not in a partnership with the child's other
parent, you may apply for a Parent of a British Child visa from outside the UK. This application
is made under the guidelines of Appendix FM of the UK Immigration Rules. For your
application to be successful, the qualifying child must reside in the UK at the time of application.
In exceptional cases, you can apply even if the British child is outside the UK, provided you can
demonstrate that the child's best interests are at stake, in line with Section 55 of the BCIA 2009
and Article 8 of the ECHR.
