Because of its ageing workforce, Canada welcomes skilled immigrants and has already committed to welcoming 400,000+ immigrants by the year 2023. Canada offers greater openness in the immigration process and lets you know in advance whether you qualify for a PR Visa thanks to the use of point-based immigration.
The Canada PR Visa can be obtained through the fast-track Express Entry Program, which oversees the
applications of aspiring immigrants across three primary categories: Federal Skilled Worker Program
(FSWP), Federal Skilled Trade Program (FSTP), and Canadian Experience Class (CEC). To apply for a PR
visa under the Express Entry program as a skilled worker, you need to score a minimum of 67 points out
of 100 on the FSW evaluation grid. To check your eligibility for Express Entry, you can refer to the
following link: Eligibility for Express Entry. Your scores are calculated based on the following criteria:

The Canadian government employs the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) to assess and order the profiles of candidates vying for the Express Entry system, the primary channel for skilled workers seeking to migrate to Canada. The CRS score takes into account several core and additional elements, such as age, education level, language proficiency (in English and/or French), work experience (both in Canada and overseas), Canadian study experience, spouse or common-law partner's education level and language proficiency, job offer in Canada, and Provincial Nomination (PN) or an offer of a valid job from a Canadian employer. Each element is assigned a specific point value, and the cumulative score determines the candidates' ranking in the Express Entry pool. Those with the highest scores are invited to apply for permanent residency in Canada. The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducts Express Entry draws regularly and establishes a CRS score cut-off for each draw. Only those profiles that meet the minimum CRS score requirements receive invitations to apply (ITAs) for permanent residency in Canada. You can use the Canada immigration points calculator to determine your CRS score and the probability of receiving an ITA in the recent rounds of invitations
Here are some ways to boost your CRS score and increase your chances of getting an invitation to apply for permanent residency in Canada:
Aim for a score of at least CLB 9 or better on the language competency test to significantly increase your CRS score.
Complete postsecondary education in Canada or obtain an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) from a reputable organization to increase your CRS score.
Having relevant work experience in a high-demand occupation can raise your CRS score. It is recommended to have at least 3 years of full-time work experience.
Receiving a nomination from a Canadian province can increase your CRS score by up to 600 points.
Obtaining a job offer from a Canadian employer can increase your CRS score by up to 200 points.
