Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for registration under Section 4A of the British Nationality Act 1981 (as amended by the British Overseas Territories Act 2002), you must meet the following conditions:

  • You must be a British Overseas Territories Citizen (BOTC)
  • Your BOTC status should not solely be due to a connection with the Sovereign Base Areas of Akrotiri and Dhekelia.
  • You should not have previously renounced British citizenship through a formal declaration.
  • You must demonstrate to the Secretary of State that you are of good character
