Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for entry clearance as a T2 Minister of Religion, you must meet the following criteria:
1- Valid Application: The application for entry clearance as a T2 Minister of Religion must be made
from outside the UK.
2- Age Requirement: You must be 18 years or older at the time of application.
3- Suitability Requirement: You must not fall under refusal grounds as outlined in Part 9 of the

7- Financial Requirement: If applying for entry clearance, you must either:
o Have funds of at least £1,270, held for a continuous 28-day period, as specified in
Appendix Finance.
o Have your A-rated sponsor confirm on the CoS that they will cover your maintenance
and accommodation up to £1,270 if necessary, for the first month of your employment.
8- English Language Requirement: You must demonstrate English language proficiency at level B2
(intermediate) across all four components (reading, writing, speaking, and listening), unless
exempt. This must be evidenced as per Appendix English Language.
9- Tuberculosis Test Certificate: You must provide a valid medical certificate confirming that you
have been screened for active pulmonary tuberculosis, and that you are clear of the disease if
required by paragraph A39 and Appendix T of the Immigration Rules.
According to paragraph MOR 4.1 of Appendix T2 Minister of Religion in the Immigration Rules, you must

Sponsorship Requirements
To qualify for a T2 Minister of Religion visa, the applicant must possess a valid Certificate of Sponsorship
(CoS) for the position they intend to undertake. This CoS should be issued by the sponsor no later than
three months prior to the visa application. For the Certificate of Sponsorship to be considered valid, it
must meet the following criteria:
1- It must specify the applicant’s name, confirm their sponsorship as a T2 Minister of Religion, and
include details of the job, salary, and any other remuneration offered by the sponsor.
2- The CoS must include a start date, provided by the sponsor, which should be within three
months of the application date.
3- It must not have been previously used in an application that was granted or refused, though it
can be reused if a previous application was rejected as invalid, made void, or withdrawn.
4- The CoS should not have been withdrawn by the sponsor or canceled by the Home Office.
5- It must verify that the applicant is qualified for the T2 Minister of Religion position.
6- It should confirm that the applicant is a member of the sponsor’s religious order, if applicable.
7- The CoS must state that the applicant will perform religious duties within or as directed by the
sponsor’s organization in the UK, which may include preaching, pastoral, and non-pastoral
activities.
8- It must ensure that the role does not primarily involve non-pastoral tasks, such as school
teaching, media production, domestic work, or administrative and clerical duties, unless it is a
senior position within the sponsor’s organization.
9- The CoS should confirm that the applicant’s pay and working conditions are at least equivalent
to those of settled workers in the same role, in compliance with, or exemption from, the
national minimum wage.
The sponsor must be authorized by the Home Office to sponsor the position under the T2 Minister of
Religion category. Additionally, the sponsor must be listed as A-rated on the Home Office’s register of
licensed sponsors unless the applicant was last granted permission as a T2 Minister of Religion and is
seeking to continue working with the same sponsor.
The applicant must:
1- Have a genuine intention and the capability to perform the role for which they are being
sponsored.
2- Not intend to engage in employment outside of the sponsored role, except as allowed under
MOR 10.3 of Appendix T2 Minister of Religion.
Financial Requirement
For entry clearance applications, the applicant must either:
1- Possess at least £1,270 in funds, held for a minimum of 28 days, as outlined in Appendix
Finance.
2- Have their A-rated sponsor confirm on the CoS that they will cover the applicant's maintenance
and accommodation, if necessary, for the first month of employment, up to £1,270.
English Language Requirement
Unless exempt, the applicant must demonstrate English language proficiency at level B2 on the Common
European Framework of Reference for Languages across all four components (reading, writing, speaking,
and listening). This requirement is specified in Appendix English Language.
For entry clearance applications, permission will be granted for the shorter of:
1- Up to 14 days after the employment period stated on the Certificate of Sponsorship, or
2- 3 years and 1 month.
The grant will be subject to the following conditions:
3- No access to public funds.
4- The only work permitted includes:
o The job for which the applicant is being sponsored.
o Supplementary employment, provided the applicant continues in the sponsored role.
o Voluntary work.
o Completing a contractual notice for a job the applicant was lawfully employed in at the
time of the application.
5- Study is allowed, subject to the ATAS condition in Appendix ATAS.
6- If Part 10 of the Immigration Rules applies, the applicant will need to register with the police.
