from joining them in the UK.
Eligibility Requirements for Health and Care Worker Visa
To qualify for the Health and Care Worker Visa, you must satisfy the requirements of the Skilled Worker
route, as detailed in Appendix Skilled Worker of the Immigration Rules. The key eligibility criteria
include:
1- Professional Qualifications: You must be a qualified doctor, nurse, health professional, or adult
social care worker.
2- Eligible Job: Your role must be within an eligible health or social care job category.
3- Points Requirement: You must earn 50 points from mandatory non-tradeable points and at
least 20 points from tradeable points.
4- Sponsorship: Your employer must hold a sponsor license and issue you a Certificate of
Sponsorship (CoS) with details about your role in the UK.
5- Minimum Salary: You must meet the minimum salary requirement based on your job type.
6- English Language Proficiency: You must provide evidence of your knowledge of the English
language.
7- Financial Support: You must demonstrate sufficient personal savings to support yourself in the
UK unless your employer has certified maintenance.
8- Travel and History: You must show your ability to travel and provide your travel history for the
past five years.
9- Tuberculosis Test: If you are from a listed country, you must provide valid tuberculosis test
results.
10- Criminal Record Certificate: If working with vulnerable individuals, you must provide a criminal
record certificate for any country where you have lived for 12 months or more in the last 10
years.
Employers must include a brief explanation in the CoS detailing how the employee meets the Health and
Care Visa eligibility requirements. They are also responsible for informing the applicant of their eligibility
so that the application form is completed accurately. If the employer provides services commissioned by
the NHS, evidence of contract arrangements may need to be submitted to UK Visas and Immigration

Your employer must pay you at least £20,960 per year unless the "going rate" for your specific job is
higher. The going rate varies based on your occupation code and the region in the UK where you will be

Financial Requirement (Mandatory) for a Skilled Worker
If you are applying for entry clearance or have been in the UK for less than 12 months at the time of
application, you must either:
1- Have at least £1,270 in funds held for at least 28 days as required by Appendix Finance, or
2- Have your sponsor certify that they will cover your maintenance and accommodation costs up
to £1,270 for the first month of your employment.

Successful applicants will be granted entry clearance until 14 days after the end date of their Certificate
of Sponsorship (CoS), for up to a maximum of five years. The visa will include the following conditions:
1- No access to public funds
2- Work is restricted to the job for which the visa is granted
3- Supplementary employment is allowed, provided the primary job remains the same
4- Voluntary work is permitted
5- Completing a contractual notice period is permitted if the job was held lawfully at the time of
application
6- Study is allowed, subject to ATAS requirements outlined in Appendix ATAS
7- Police registration may be required under Part 10.
