Applying for Entry Clearance

To apply for entry clearance as a Parent of a Child Student from outside the UK, you must meet the following requirements:

1- Submit a valid application from outside the UK.

2- Your child must be between 4 and 11 years old and enrolled in an independent school in the UK.

3- You must be the only parent accompanying the child, with the other parent residing abroad and unable to join you in the UK.

4- Demonstrate sufficient funds to support both yourself and your child in the UK.

5- Maintain your primary residence outside the UK.

6- Plan to leave the UK when your visa expires.

7- Avoid any general grounds for refusal.

8- Provide a Tuberculosis Test certificate if you are from a country listed in Appendix T of the Immigration Rules.

Financial Requirements

To support your entry clearance application, you need to show that you have enough funds for yourself and your child:

1- £1,560 per month for up to 9 months, totaling a maximum of £14,040 for a stay of 9 months or more.

2- An additional £625 per month, up to 9 months, is required for each extra child accompanying you who also holds a Child Student visa.

Extending Your Visa

You can apply to extend your Parent of a Child Student visa while in the UK, provided you and your child meet the eligibility criteria. Extensions must be applied for online before your current visa expires. When extending your visa, you can stay until your child's visa expires or they turn 12, whichever comes first. If you have been in the UK for at least 12 months on a valid visa, you do not need to prove financial support for the extension application.
