Spouse, civil partner, or unmarried/same-sex partner of the Global Talent migrant;
Children under 18 years old of the Global Talent migrant.
Children who entered the UK on a Dependent visa before turning 18 may still qualify if they are now
over 18.

Appendix Global Talent.

refusal).
Financial Requirement: The applicant must meet the financial criteria specified in Appendix

Ineligibility for Switching to a Global Talent Dependent Visa
Applicants cannot switch to a Global Talent Dependent visa if they are in the UK under any of the
following visa categories:
Visitor;
Short-term Student;
Parent of a Child Student;
Seasonal Worker;
Domestic Worker in a Private Household;
Outside the Immigration Rules.
Relationship Requirement for a Dependent Partner of a Global Talent Migrant
The applicant must be the partner of the sponsoring Global Talent migrant under one of the following
conditions:
The Global Talent migrant holds a Global Talent visa;
The Global Talent migrant is applying for and is granted entry clearance on the Global Talent
route simultaneously;
The Global Talent migrant has settled in the UK or become a British citizen, having held
permission under the Global Talent route when they settled, and the applicant was their partner
at that time.
If the applicant and the Global Talent migrant are not married or in a civil partnership, the following
conditions must also be met:
They have lived together in a relationship akin to marriage or civil partnership for at least two
years before the application;
Any previous relationships with other individuals have permanently ended;
They are not so closely related that they would be prohibited from marrying or forming a civil
partnership in the UK.
The relationship must be genuine and ongoing, and both the applicant and their Global Talent migrant
partner must intend to live together throughout the applicant’s stay in the UK.
The child must be under 18 at the time of application, unless they were previously granted permission as a dependent child. If the child is 16 or older at the time of application, they must not be living independently. For children under 18, there must be suitable arrangements for their care and accommodation in the UK, complying with UK legislation and regulations.
The duration of the visa for a dependent partner will match that of their partner’s Global Talent visa or
will be three years if the partner is being granted settlement. A dependent child will be granted a visa
for the same period as the parent whose visa expires first, unless both parents have settled or become
British citizens, in which case the child will receive a three-year visa.
The visa will include the following conditions:
No access to public funds;
Permission to work (including self-employment and voluntary work), except as a professional
sportsperson or coach;
Permission to study, subject to the ATAS condition in Appendix ATAS, if over 18;
Requirement to register with the police if Part 10 applies.
